Engineered for the Elements

Flexiroof is designed specifically for New Zealand environments. We use high-performance materials and engineering to create abeautiful and durable shelter solution that quietly handles whatever the elements throw at it.

  • Flexiroof comes in 70+ Dulux colours to perfectly match your home.
  • Its clean, minimal design allows you to see more of the sky, clouds, rain and stars.
  • Flexiroof is customisable and designed to flow as a natural extension of your home.
  • Flexiroof is compatible with integrated LED lights and retractable outdoor blinds, so you can create your perfect outdoor living space.

Created by New Zealanders

Flexiroof is engineered by New Zealanders to handle coastal, alpine and urban environments across the country. We understand New Zealand weather patterns and climates, and provide an outdoor shelter solution custom-made for our country’s conditions.

Custom Rafter Design

Flexiroof rafters are made from high-tensile aluminium reinforced with internal structural ribs. Their design makes them extremely strong, so they are able to support the polycarbonate roofing sheet while delivering sleek, minimal rafter profiles and wide spans.

The two-part rafters attach to the polycarbonate sheet by clamping the sheet tightly along the entire length of each rafter. This continuous connection locks the polycarbonate securely to the structure without the need to drill any holes in the sheet, making Flexiroof exceptionally strong, windproof and watertight.

Flexiroof rafters are attached to the structure’s beams using consistent load connections (uniform, high-strength attachments which share the load). Combined with our continuous rafter-to-sheet connection, this creates lateral rigidity across the entire roof plane. This allows the structure to act as a bracing diaphragm – effectively a single rigid plate – that maintains alignment, resists heavy wind loads and keeps the frame square and true for the long term.

Wind and Snow Rated

The strength of the Flexiroof system ensures it is rated for New Zealand’s High Wind Zones (NZS 3604:2011) and snow loads of up to 100kg per m² – so you can be confident Flexiroof will hold up to the elements no matter where in the country you are.

Thermal Stress Management

Flexiroof shelters use our patented Thermassist technology for thermal stress management.  As the polycarbonate sheet is clamped to the rafters during installation, forced gravity pushes the sheet down into a slightly concave profile. This profile allows the polycarbonate sheet to self-adjust (expand and contract) silently with changes in temperature. By utilising the flexible properties of the polycarbonate, Thermassist technology cleverly redirects any heat stress from the Flexiroof structure to dissipate silently through natural flexing of the sheet. The benefit is that Flexiroof doesn’t make any cracking or popping noises typically associated with changes in temperature, so you can enjoy a quiet outdoor living space. Proper thermal stress management also eliminates stress points within the aluminium structure, so your Flexiroof stays strong across changes in temperatures throughout the days and seasons.

Water Management

Our custom rafters clamp the polycarbonate roofing sheet securely along its entire length, eliminating potential leak points typically associated with drilled and screwed roofing styles.

The concave profile of the polycarbonate sheet uses gravity to naturally pull rainwater away from the rafters and joins, and down towards the middle of the sheet. Water is channeled down the middle of each sheet to be collected by an internal gutter hidden within the Flexiroof structure, preserving Flexiroof’s clean and minimal appearance.

The Flexiroof system manages rainwater without the need for any degradable rubber parts, resulting in apermanent shelter solution that requires little maintenance.

High Performance Materials

Flexiroof is engineered using materials chosen for performance (6061-T6 aluminium, 99% UVA + UVB blocking polycarbonate sheet, and 316 stainless steel fasteners) to make it suitable across all of New Zealand’s coastal, alpine and urban environments. Using proven, commercial-grade materials lets us guarantee all Flexiroof shelters with a 10 year warranty, no matter which part of the country you’re in.
